Joe started at Hednesford Nursery when he was just 11 months old, and from that very first day I have never known a better place for my son to be. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt completely reassured that Joe was in a safe, nurturing, and loving environment. The level of care, dedication, and genuine affection the staff show is truly unmatched.

 

Every single member of staff goes above and beyond for the children. At every drop off and pick up, we are greeted with warm smiles, kind words, and a real sense that Joe is valued and loved. The teachers don’t just look after the children, they take the time to really know them as individuals, understanding their personalities, needs, and strengths. The love and patience they show every day is so clear to see, and it gives us complete peace of mind knowing Joe is so well cared for.

 

Joe has come on in leaps and bounds since being at nursery, progressing week by week in ways that constantly amaze us. He regularly comes home surprising us with new words, skills, and knowledge that he has learned while being there. It’s clear how much thought and effort the staff put into supporting his development, confidence, and curiosity.

When Joe moves on to school, we will be leaving a little piece of our hearts at Hednesford Nursery. It has played such a huge part in Joe’s early years and has meant so much to us as a family. We will always be grateful to the wonderful team for the love, care, and incredible start they have given our son. 

From our initial tour of the nursery to now, two years on, I can confidently say that I could not be happier with the care and provision my daughter receives. The staff are clearly happy, proud, and genuinely invested in the children they care for.

As parents, nothing brings greater reassurance than observing the staff’s body language and listening to the way they speak about the children—whether during drop-offs, pick-ups, parent days, or through the Dojo communication platform. Their warmth, respect, and genuine affection for the children are evident at every interaction.

The smiles are sincere, and the team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every child receives the very best early years education and experiences. The nursery itself is a beautiful environment, with thoughtful attention to detail and carefully adapted learning zones that clearly reflect the curriculum. I can only imagine how inspiring it must be for the children to be immersed daily in such a creative, imaginative, and purposeful learning space.

The opportunities for outdoor play, visits to local points of interest, and engagement with the Hygge programme further enrich the children’s experiences, supporting the development of their cultural capital in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.

I truly cannot imagine my daughter anywhere else. Mrs Freeman and the entire team are exceptional, not only in the way they nurture and educate my daughter, but in how they value every child in their care. Handing your child over to what initially feels like strangers is never easy, yet by the end of the first day you know they have found their nursery family.

Here’s our message from all of us:

As parents, you’re always faced with difficult choices and often wonder if you’ve made the right ones. We can honestly say that choosing Hednesford Nursery for Ava has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

Since joining in March, Ava has blossomed into such a warm, confident, and positive little girl — and we truly believe that’s thanks to the wonderful teachers and children she’s been surrounded by.

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to say a huge thank you to all the staff for their incredible support, especially during the more challenging times around Ava’s surgery.

We are the parents of a 3-year-old girl who has been attending Hednesford Nursery School for the last year.

When we first visited the nursery, we were impressed by how thoughtfully the rooms were arranged — simple, calming, and made mostly from wood and natural or recycled materials.

We’ve seen such wonderful development in our daughter since joining the nursery. She has become much more confident and independent, and, most importantly for us as a bilingual family, she has developed strong language skills.

There are plenty of activities that suit the children’s interests and needs. The garden is a lovely space — large, well looked after, and full of opportunities for the children to explore. They grow vegetables, tidy up leaves, and even cook in the outdoor kitchen.

The staff are professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. They keep us informed about our daughter’s progress and always offer support whenever any difficulties arise.

We couldn’t recommend Hednesford Nursery School more highly. It’s been the perfect setting for our family, especially after trying another nursery before finding this one. We absolutely love it.

I just wanted to be able to write my thanks in an email to all staff that have contributed to making Alice’s time at Hednesford Nursery so incredible. You are all amazing individuals, who are incredibly talented in everything you do. I could not have wished for a better setting for Alice to learn, mature and grow in. 

From the staff that meet and greet us every morning with a smile and friendly hug, to those who oversee lunches and have taught our daughter how to eat like a gown up s she says, to those of you who work behind the scenes to make sure everyday goes smoothly, thank you. As parents, it is incredibly daunting to leave your pride and joy with someone else, but it has never felt anything other than right to us. The first time I came to look around, I felt a sense of love, calm and compassion, and that has been evident in ever day since. The best word I can use to describe Hednesford nursery is “home”. Our children are loved, cared for and educated with a real sense of love, and knowing Alice loves to come in everyday has been wonderful. 

We will miss you so much. Alice has flourished, and has truly “bloomed” in her favourite place in the world. Thank you all. You are an amazing team of individuals, who work together to create something incredibly special.
