Blossoms & World Bee Day

World Bee Day is observed on 20th May each year to draw attention to the essential role bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy. Blossoms class were thrilled to welcome family members to join us for a morning of activities both indoors and out.
We used clay, soil and seeds to make a flower bomb, which when planted in the earth should bloom into a beautiful wildflower display. Bumblebee crowns were available to make, and once outdoors they could be decorated with flowers or foliage from the garden. Then blossoms children contributed to the cause- ‘Feed the bees’ by planting bee shaped seed papers in the planters outside.

To conclude our session, and after a rendition of ‘Busy like a bee’, a sticky sweet snack was served, as we tasted honey on some toast.

Thank you to all of the grown ups for attending, we had bee-rilliant time celebrating World Bee Day with you all.
